The Jesus Youth movement’s first initiatives in Africa began in 2010 in Uganda. After networking with Church leaders the movement began its work in universities and among youth in the grass root level. Today Jesus Youth has full time volunteers working in Uganda, it has reached out to several universities and has a presence in more than ten dioceses. The movement is also involved in several leadership training programmes in the country. From Uganda, Jesus Youth has moved into initial stages of its work in several East African countries like Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Chad and Djibouti.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ronald Mboowa and the outgoing team for their faithful service. We also thank Santosh Mathew and the entire African Mission Team for your guidance and prayers. This year marks 15 years of the Uganda mission, and today we celebrate a vibrant with diocesan teams, formation activities, and our Lira Formation Centre, which continues to host ongoing formation and perpetual intercession.
A special note of gratitude to our Jesus Youth Middle East family for your unwavering support and ownership of this mission. Your generosity keeps the fire of mission burning brightly.
